After 17 years in Singapore, we’ve made our new home in Waconia, Minnesota—a vibrant and growing lakeside town. Here, we’re building something that blends our love for books with our deep commitment to community: a nonprofit bookstore designed to connect people, spark conversations, and support meaningful local causes.

But we can’t do it alone.

A Local Need:
There is currently no bookstore within a 10-mile radius of Waconia, despite the area’s rapid growth and vibrant population.

A Place for Community:
We believe a bookstore can be more than shelves and pages—it can be a third space where people gather, connect, and belong.

A Mission with Impact:
As a nonprofit, Lakeside Books will reinvest all profits into local causes, with a focus on youth mental health and crisis pregnancy support.

These funds will support:
