It's not a surprise that Waconia hasn't had a bookstore in over 20 years, but we want to change that!
Setting up a bookstore takes a significant initial investment in start-up costs like renovations and initial inventory of thousands of books!

After 17 years in Singapore, we’ve made our new home in Waconia, Minnesota—a vibrant and growing lakeside town. Here, we’re building something that blends our love for books with our deep commitment to community: a nonprofit bookstore designed to connect people, spark conversations, and support meaningful local causes.
But we can’t do it alone.
We invite you to join us in launching Lakeside Books—a welcoming space where books build bridges, and every purchase gives back to the community. With your support, we can create a lasting presence in the heart of Waconia that promotes reading, belonging, and purpose.
